Qubahan Engineering Journal (QENGJ) maintains a clear distinction between authorship, copyright ownership, and open-access licensing.

Copyright Ownership

As a condition of publication, authors transfer copyright in the final published article to Qubahan Engineering Journal.

Copyright transfer becomes effective only after the manuscript has received final editorial acceptance and proceeds to publication.

Submission of a manuscript alone does not transfer copyright.

Copyright in rejected or formally withdrawn manuscripts remains with the original copyright holder.

Authorship Rights

Transfer of copyright does not remove or alter authorship.

Authors remain permanently identified as the creators of their scholarly work and retain applicable moral rights under relevant law.

Authors retain the right to:

  • Be properly identified and credited;

  • Cite their published work;

  • Discuss and present their research;

  • Use their research for teaching and academic purposes;

  • Include appropriate parts of the work in future scholarly activities where lawful; and

  • Deposit the published version in appropriate repositories in accordance with the journal's Open Access and Licensing Policies.

Open-Access Licensing

Although copyright in the published article is held by Qubahan Engineering Journal, articles are made openly available under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The Creative Commons license defines how users may legally reuse published content.

Copyright ownership should therefore not be interpreted as preventing reuse that is expressly permitted under the applicable open-access license.

Copyright Notice

Published articles should clearly display the journal's copyright and licensing information.

A standard notice may state:

© Qubahan Engineering Journal. This article is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission where required to reproduce copyrighted material belonging to third parties.

This may include:

  • Figures;

  • Tables;

  • Photographs;

  • Illustrations;

  • Maps;

  • Architectural drawings;

  • Diagrams;

  • Previously published images; and

  • Other copyrighted material.

Third-party material must be properly acknowledged and accompanied by the required copyright or permission information.

Material identified as belonging to another copyright holder is not automatically covered by the article's CC BY 4.0 license.

Author Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • The work is original;

  • They have the authority to submit the manuscript;

  • Publication will not knowingly infringe the rights of third parties;

  • Required permissions have been obtained;

  • Copyrighted sources are properly acknowledged; and

  • They accept the journal's copyright conditions upon publication.

Copyright Infringement

Credible allegations of copyright infringement will be investigated in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policy.

Where infringement is established, appropriate action may include:

  • Correction;

  • Replacement or removal of infringing material;

  • Retraction; or

  • Other necessary measures to protect the scholarly record.

Website and Publisher Material

Copyright in the journal's website design, logo, branding, publisher material, administrative content, and other non-article material is separate from copyright in individual scholarly articles.
